    ARM

    Rigorously Tested

EarthARM's technology removes arsenic from water. It also removes radium, uranium, chromium, mercury, and manganese. ARM is inert and non-hazardous both before and after use. Spent ARM material is disposed as a non-hazardous waste. Customers, regulators, engineers, and scientists have agreed that ARM can:

    • Remove arsenic from water, including drinking water
    • Remediate coal-fired power stations, mining sites, and other industrial sites contaminated with heavy metals
    • Improve the safety of existing and future nuclear power stations
    • Revegetate brownfield sites contaminated with heavy metals

    Who We Are

    Leader in our Field

The management and technical team (including Neil Bardach, CEO), responsible for six successful ARM projects in three countries.

    • Our team has established markets in removal of toxic metals such as arsenic, mercury, and radium from water and treatment of metal-laden soils and solids including mine tailings.
    • We are the only manufacturers of Activated Red Mud in the world, and can supply world-wide product needs from our U.S. manufacturing facility.
    • We have obtained EPA and state approvals for manufacturing and distribution of our mineral-based product, developed a business model for and secured customers in North America and the Far East, and secured sources of supply.
  • ARM

Is a cost-effective, environmentally sound solution for the treatment of contaminated water and soil.

    ARM

    Neutralized waste

A neutralized by-product from aluminum refineries in the form of a powder. Specially blended compositions of ARM can be tailored to any and all site cleanup objectives. Blended or distributed into contaminated soil or placed in a filter system for contaminated water. Cure period for soil is 2 weeks or less. Residence period for water is 15 minutes to a maximum of 24 hours.

    Key Properties and Qualities

    Walk away solution

Inert and non-hazardous before and after use. High acid neutralizing capacity. Extraordinary metal binding capacity, in a non-leachable form. Creates a stable sediment. Simple to apply. Walk-away solution.

    Prima Resources, AU

    Source and Characteristics

    Huge source of material

The source material for ARM is the residual red mud from the refining of alumina from bauxite ore. In its original state, the red mud is highly alkaline and corrosive. The activation process for Activated Red Mud (ARM) production involves the solid-phase cation exchange of calcium and magnesium ions with the sodium ions that are present as sodium hydroxide in the red mud. This results in the formation of solid-phase, low-solubility solid alkaline material, which only enters into neutralization processes once the pH drops below neutral. The surface area of the material is retained by assuring that the red mud is not over-dried, leading to agglomeration of the particles.
